Long walks on the beach under the stars? BARF!
OK, tell the truth, have you really ever taken a long walk on a beach as a first date? Hello, I'm your fix for the lame dating cliche'! There won't be any walking on the beach without a healthy dose of me dragging you laughing and kicking, into the surf and soaking both of us. I'll make it up to you later as we dry our clothes by a midnight fire as we smuggle under a blanket and sip good champagne from cheap Styrofoam cups. Ah romance! Now, let me tell you a little more about myself...
For starters, I'm looking to get out and have a fun weekend. My last weekend was spent helping a buddy install a new dishwasher in his kitchen. He forgot to mention that we had to carry it up three flights of stairs, but hey, he's my buddy and I gave him my word...
In my spare time though, I enjoy writing. Somewhere along the way of working by the sweat of the brow I picked up creative writing, (poetry, short stories, etc...) probably the best thing I got out of college and never put the pen back down. Creative writing gives me a sense of profound serenity, which is just like going swimming because you feel so immersed, deeply centered in a new world, and this experience makes you feel a deeper comfort and joy... A deeper comfort and joy is like... Oops, I've already wrote too much. Likewise, I promise, I won't bore you with any of my writings, but I'd be flattered if you ask to read them.
Besides being a handyman and writer, my other big passion is COOKING. I'll warn you, you'll get to sample all kinds of wonderful things with me, from butter chicken to creme brule (which I'm currently struggling to perfect).
My favorite and probably the most interesting is my family and believe me, there's nothing "Home Alone Parts 1 - 27 " about it. Having grown up with 13 people and many pets, playing, fighting, and chasing each other around 24/7, the burglars and criminals were afraid to come near our house, yeah, they were too busy trying to find an escape route to avoid us. Speaking of family, my sister (younger) is still one of my best friends. Mom and Dad are amazed, since we fought constantly as kids. She's married now and recently had her first kid (check out the attached picture) and now I've got a t-shirt that says "Worlds Best Uncle". If they only knew how many cartoons we watch while I'm baby sitting.
I enjoy watching all kinds of movies and especially horror movies. I know, i know , I'm a horror movie buff, but don't worry, I won't subject you to Friday The 13th part 27... I only dig the classics...Shining, Jaws, Night Of The Living Dead. I'll cover your eyes during the scary parts if you need me to...
So I'd look forward to a long lazy weekend of just you and I, laying curled up on the couch under a heavy blanket, fire crackling, popcorn and drinks close at hand, as we watch our favorite movie... yet driven to feed each other popcorn once in a while as we smile warmly.
